Uttam
The Uttam London brand was founded over 10 years ago by Uttam Nepal. In 1994 he was selling knitwear from his home country of Nepal in Camden Market, London. The fashion at the time for hand-made ethnic clothing made his collection increasingly popular towards the end of the 1990s and the brand enjoyed considerable growth. Inspired by the East, the Uttam designs embrace the traditions and beauty of Nepal, India and Japan. The in-house design team use techniques such as patchwork, tie-dye, applique, hand-stitched embellishments using beads, sequins and jewels plus many more to create the unique Uttam style. The continuing growth and success of the brand led to the development of the Uttam Direct website, and the launch of the stylish new Yumi brand in 2007
